About TRIMM Copenhagen®
Rikke Gjørlund is the artist and designer behind TRIMM Copenhagen®, which she founded in 2010 with a vision to dissolve the boundaries between indoor intimacy and outdoor freedom—between softness and rawness, solitude and openness. Inspired by Denmark’s maritime heritage, she creates furniture as spatial sculptures—bold, voluminous forms that invite stillness, presence, and dialogue across natural and urban landscapes.
Each piece is a building block in a larger aesthetic universe, where function and poetry coexist in quiet harmony. Materials are chosen not only for their strength, but for their tactile beauty—designed to endure both time and weather with grace.
Today, Rikke lives part-time in Mallorca, where the island’s colors, light, and laid-back spirit continue to inspire and shape her evolving design language. With TRIMM, she has created more than furniture—she has crafted a story of space, rhythm, and timeless connection.

High performance outdoor materials
In 2011, Rikke and her husband—a lifelong sailmaker—launched their first outdoor lounge collection under the brand TRIMM Copenhagen. Drawing on the know-how that keeps sails strong against sun, salt, water and mold, they chose high performance fabrics that shrug off UV rays, fillings that dry fast, and metals that stay spotless outdoors. That expertise is stitched into every TRIMM Copenhagen® outdoor product, giving you furniture that looks beautiful, feels inviting, and endures season after season with minimal fuss.

Sustainability at the heart of every decision
TRIMM Copenhagen® is continuously working to become more sustainable across the entire value chain. We proudly support European manufacturing—both for its lower environmental footprint and the political importance of keeping skilled production close to home. At every step, climate and environmental impact guide our choices, from materials to logistics. Explore the concrete initiatives we’ve adopted and see how sustainability shapes our day-to-day operations.

Our Materials
For TRIMM Copenhagen®, the choice of materials is crucial for product development and brand identity as a design company. In addition to prioritizing high quality, the focus is on durable materials that can be reused again and again for new purposes. In recent years, TRIMM Copenhagen has increasingly chosen materials that have a history or leave a minimal environmental footprint to ensure a more sustainable approach to design.
Explore Our Materials in Detail

Design
We design timeless, durable products with modern relevance, placing particular emphasis on shapes and colors that transcend trends. Our bestsellers from over 10 years ago are still part of our collections.
Materials
Our materials are selected for their durability, quality and recyclability. One example is the Recycled Noah collection, which is made from recycled plastic bottles, and the filling of our beanbags, which is made from 25% recycled EPS.
Production
Our products are manufactured in the EU (except our handmade terrazzo trays from Vietnam) to minimize transportation. Close cooperation with our suppliers ensures quality and efficiency.
Transportation
Centralized storage close to production reduces transport costs. Over 90 % of orders are shipped directly to customers and raw materials are sourced from Europe to reduce delivery distances.
Distribution
TRIMM Copenhagen's online sales reduce the need for printed material and waste. Travel is limited to online meetings, which promotes sustainability while strengthening close customer relationships.
Future goals
We aim to move all production to the EU, use 100% recycled fibers for outdoor textiles, expand flat-packable designs and find sustainable alternatives for all components.
